Frequently asked questions
Here are some questions our pupils have asked.
How many lessons will I need?
This varies from one person to another, but as a guide the Driving
Standards Agency
tell us that on average a pupil needs 45 hours of instruction and 20
hours of private practice to pass the L test. We had a pupil go
from total beginner to pass the test in less than 20 lessons - however,
his mum
says they probably covered more than 2,000 miles practising!
Do I need to pass the Theory Test before I start lessons?
Absolutely not! It may be best to start lessons so that the theory
learning makes more sense.
What is the Theory Test pass mark?
You must answer 43 out of 50 multiple choice questions correctly in the
57 minutes allowed, then achieve a score of at least 44 out of 75 in
the Hazard Perception Test that follows. The HPT consists of 14 video
clips containing 15 hazards.
I'm a bit nervous about driving
Everybody is apprehensive to
begin with, so we try to help you feel relaxed. Your
training will be at your pace not ours - you are in the driving seat!
How can I pay?
You can pay in cash or by personal cheque.
You can pay in advance or at each lesson. Please ask to see our Terms
&
Conditions for more details.
